I actually did something today.
I've actually been doing a lot, but it's mostly been server-related stuff, and bitching-about-BFI stuff. I'll probably have more on that later, though....
I went back to Safeway last night. Everyone was very nice, but they always are on nightshift.
Then, this morning, after much...stuff...a cat turned up in my backyard. I got a couple of pictures of him.
I actually got a whole bunch. This one's 948, and the next one is 964, so that should tell you something....
These were just the two that I thought were 'the best'.
I was in the middle of working on something when UPS showed up with a nice stack of boxes for me. That large one had some pipe insulation, a tube of caulking, a toilet flapper, and a wall patch in it. Isn't that stupid?
I'm getting really, really sick of damaged boxes. At least they're just shoes....
This is what I've been waiting for. My brand new, digital touchscreen thermostat.
I spared you the installation process, mostly because it involved more hands than I had. I figure I'm lucky that my fuse box was all nice and labeled in...sharpie, and not just...not labeled at all, like the wires on my thermostat [which was an old round one. You can kinda see part of where it was over at the edge of the new thermostat].
I'm not entirely sure what I should do with the old thermostat. I think I'm gonna keep it...for no reason. It's got mercury in it, so I know I can't just throw it away.
I like my new thermostat. I think it's cool.
I wonder how long it will take me to get over the 'what if I just started a slow electrical fire' paranoia....

I guess you'll find out about the fire thing soon enough.
