web page hit counter

Why I've been so lazy.

I guess the biggest reason I've been pushing is that I haven't been sleeping very well, since I was sleeping on the floor.

I was also a little preoccupied with the fact that I ordered this mattress from waterbedmart.com on the 14th [when the bed went away], and I wasn't able to get any response from them beyond the automated order emails.

They said that the tracking numbers would be available upon request the day after the product shipped -- but I never got anything about shipping. I emailed one email address on the 17th, and one on the 22nd. Then I called.

Then I got in touch with the local Better Business Bureau. Mostly because I was pissed that I had an order for an almost $100. product pending, and I couldn't get a response from the damned company.

The day after I filed the report [Thursday], my mattress arrived. The box was in awful condition.

I, of course, took pictures. Here's some thumbnails of the box:

Luckily, the items inside were okay.

I was most concerned with the mattress. I took some pictures of that before I took it out of the box, because...if it was damaged somehow...I don't know. Maybe I thought that having pictures would somehow prove that it wasn't my fault that it was fucked up?

The drain and fill kit with conditioner was a surprise. I think I've got five of these now, but only one of the thing I really need -- the little plastic bit that you put into the fill opening to let the air out without accidentally draining the bed all over the place....

And here's a picture of the mattress....

It's supposed to be decent quality, made of slightly thicker materials than most mattresses. It's a free flow bladder, and that funny thing that looks like I forgot to take some sort of plastic wrapper off is a 'full liner' of some sorts. It completely covers the entire mattress in case the mattress itself starts to leak.

I think that grey bit with the writing is some sort of seam reinforcement, and the black bit is for better heat conduction. It's the closest part to the heater, and I guess it's supposed to help the water heat up faster.

So, now I have the bed back. And it's definitely warming faster.

And I've got another excuse....

I think I mentioned this before. The game controller I got for the TV tower, so I can play things like Tetris Attack and Super Mario RPG. And stuff....

I'm kinda in the middle of Earthbound right now. I kinda dropped that to play Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on Thursday, though, while I was waiting for a call back from Waterbedmart.com.

A callback that never came. Instead, the mattress just showed up....

I'll get back to actually doing stuff...at some point. I have to get used to actually sleeping on a bed again, so I can feel 'rested' at least once this month....
