Now I pay even more for cable!
A source of many insult attempts from certain stupid people has been what I pay for cable. Somehow, the fact that the price includes really-cool-high-speed-internet, the full digital platinum package, plus HD seems to be completely beyond them.
Now, I'm paying five bucks more a month -- I upgraded from my regular HD box to the Comcast DVR service. And I saved a bunch by going into their service outlet, trading in my HD box, and installing the DVR myself. That was relatively painless, although, since I got their 'newest model', I was stuck with some stupid manual code changeover crap with them. It took an extra hour of downloading crap, but, so far, it seems to work.
That's the new box. It looks a lot like the old one, doesn't it? The old one wasn't a dual channel spiffy thing with 120gb of storage, though.
This is the remote. It's...I already used the word spiffy, didn't I? I love having more buttons.
As an added bonus, my OnDemand functions seem to be responding faster.
I'll have to write a review of the service in a few weeks, when I know how it's working.

If I were home enough to watch TV, I'd be paying what you do for cable.
