Waiting on Tables 4: Finally....

I am so tired. SO fucking TIRED.

Why? Because I haven't actually gotten anything that resembles good sleep in over twenty-four hours. Because I've been waiting for the two packages to actually scan as 'out for delivery'.

They never did. They just...showed up sometime after I passed out for the fifth or sixth time today. Gremlin found them and hauled them in.

Two big boxes. Really big, heavy boxes. The thinner one is the actual table, and it's probably a bit more than eighty pounds.

And they both smell like Commerce City. Like gas and refinery and...ick. It took me a while to figure out that the boxes where where the gas-station-gone-bad smell was coming from.

DSC01431

It got a little damaged in shipment.

DSC01432

I opened the smaller one first, since it was only about fifty pounds, and I was curious as to what the hell was actually in it.

CHAIRS! How obvious and let-downey. I was hoping for...goodies, or something. A box full of candy, maybe.

DSC01433

Then I got the bigger box open, after wondering where the fuck I put my scissors for about an hour....

The bigger box had four bits of usless particleboard around the edges. I've decided that they're actually 'potential shelving', and not 'useless', so I'm sure I'll be doing something with them later.

DSC01434

I immediately dispersed the parts all over the house, so that they may never be found again. Also, I noticed that it matches my picture frame, sorta.

DSC01435

More parts dispersal. More mess, as well.

DSC01436

If you haven't noticed, things are a little messy.

DSC01437

Okay. They're a LOT messy.

DSC01438

Who gives a shit, though. Here's an instruction book, because I get to put together the table!

Also, there's my trusty drill. I do not know where my trusty Make It Work hammer is, however. That ended up being okay, though.

DSC01439

Stupid safety warnings, ruining all the fun in the world....

DSC01440

Helpful kitty wants to...help. By making me lose little bits. And playing with my hand towel.

DSC01441

Here we have part of the table put together. That's Gremlin, who is also helpful. But not in the same way that Zombi is helpful.

DSC01442

More of the base being put together. That's where the chairs get stored. Right then, it was holding an ashtray.

DSC01443

The instructions said to put swinging leg part number 2 on some specific side. But they were both marked one. Isn't that funny?

DSC01444

I later found the two.

DSC01445

An eight and a nine. How...confusing, or something. At this point, Gremlin was getting kinda annoyed that I was taking pictures instead of putting together the table....

DSC01446

But here's Helpful Kitty again! Helpful Kitty is also annoyed, because I'm taking her picture instead of telling her to stop helping.

DSC01447

Helpful Kitty wants to eat the screws. She tried to a few minutes after this picture was taken.

DSC01448

And here's a sort of cramped shot of the table, all put together and stuff.

Now I have lots of cleaning up and moving-around-of-stuff to do. Sometime after the puzzle that's currently occupying the table gets done. And maybe after I get some sleep.

No tagstuff.

Wow! I think I'm making a regular thing of this....

WOW Hunter.
Nice table!
Good job to Zombie, and Gremlin too.
