Well, this was unexpected....
Normally, when I get prescriptions through the VA [the only way I've gotten prescriptions for years now], they show up rather quietly through the mail. So, when I noticed that my most recent 'script had been dispensed on Monday, I was expecting to see it by Friday, in my mailbox.
Instead, I get a knock on my door about an hour ago from a fairly cranky FedEx guy. At least, he seemed cranky to me. It could be that I was just really fucking tired and it was really fucking painful-sunny out there, so I had no fucking clue what was really going on.
By the time I actually hauled some real pants on and got the fucking door open, he was on his way back with one of those door-hanger things -- also unexpected, because FedEx usually leaves a sticky and the package. He was all, "Oh, so you're here."
I thought of saying something about how I'd really rather not be there, bursting into flames in the harsh, nasty sunlight, because I have a perfectly good waterbed waiting to soothe me with its turned-down-for-the-summer coolness. That part of me doesn't come online until at least an hour after I wake up, though, so I said, "Uh-huh...." instead.
He went back to the truck and made me go through a stupid-long signing process for a big white styrofoam cooler-box with blue tape around it.
Kinda looked like this, except here it's all opened. The Rings were inside, under a big icepack, and I swear there was, like, dry-ice smoke in the bottom. But that might just've been my offline brain again....
This was mildly upsetting, but the actual package is still nicely sealed.
They're in the fridge now, because the three mile long instructions/patient advisory sheet had 'keep refrigerated' tossed somewhere in the middle, in a really strange place that took me a good ten minutes to find....
Fucking FedEx Overnight. Unexpected....
