The long, slow process of moving in....

So, I lost a CD yesterday.

It wasn't just any CD -- it was full of books that probably won't ever be seen by anyone else. The CD isn't that important, though, except in all the ways it is.

The lost CD somehow prompted a moving-around of the dining room area. The table is off in a corner now, and everything that was on it is living in a temporary spot either in the kitchen or on a footstool in the kitchen. This moving-of-stuff half bled-over into the livingroom, which isn't quite finished being moved around yet.

What all this led to is what I'm posting about, though. See, in the process of cleaning up and shifting stuff around so the vacuum could [finally] be used, we found some posters that I'd brought up for hanging in the upstairs.

Hanging posters is, what, one of the middle stages of moving in?

This is one of Gremlin's older posters, from the Denver Museum of...whatever it was [before it changed it's name to whatever it is now]. I thought it was one of the better ones, so it deserved a place upstairs somewhere, so, now, it's on the livingroom wall, above one of the DVD shelves.

This is that Human Genome poster I mentioned in some other post. I think that one is probably temporary, partly because it's a little...not straight. I'm not very good at putting up posters, I guess, because I don't think they have to be absolutely straight.

The mushroom cloud poster [actually Mushroom Cloud Poster 2, since 1 was all...not in a stable condition at all] went up over the door.

It's a sauropod with a really long neck. I can't remember how to spell it right now, because I just woke up. It looked like it would fit there, though, between the thermostat and a former-resident's picture hanging nail-thing that got painted over [and I don't feel like ripping it out right this minute].

Then comes the first of the dispute-posters. I wanted to hang it upstairs somewhere, and Gremlin wanted it down in his office. I actually won this one. The Night of the Living Dead poster is hanging on the bathroom door.

Finally, there was my AvP poster. It's an actual, double-sided cinematic thingie, but the other side is the Predator thing, and I just don't really...want that. I like the alien-thing. That wall is at the stairs -- I guess it forms part of the closet that's right there.

There was another poster -- an Invader Zim thing that's hanging on one of the three sliding closet doors in the bedroom -- but the pictures didn't come out at all. Huge glares and weird shadows, or something.

Also, there's one we haven't put up yet [or, rather, a few hundred we haven't, but some of those you don't just stick pins through] that's probably going to go in the bedroom. It's an old one of a Brachiosaurus, with a glow-in-the-dark skeleton. I thought it was neat.

We might get more done today. I don't really know.

Oh, almost forgot....

The shiny, shiny iPod Nano lanyard earbuds thing.

I just thought this looked neat, so I took a picture of it before taking the thing apart. It was kinda fun, figuring out which bit to release first.

I should probably start getting myself 'ready' to get the mail....

I like the mushroom cloud. That's exactly what you need to see before venturing into the world at large.
