Comment Policy

Welcome to my comment policy page. I have some rules for you to consider before posting. And other stuff, too.

Things you have no control over

• This is my site. I will do as I wish.
• Comments are moderated. If you have never commented here before, your comment will be held for moderation. If you have commented before, and your comment has been approved, your comment will go through as long as you're using the same email address. Why? That's how it works. There's nothing you can do about it.
• Comments will also be moderated based on other things. Having more than one URL in the comment body will get your comment held. Also, certain magic words will get you held -- certain compulsive typos trolls use, mostly.

Try to...

• stay on topic.
• be clear.
• be yourself.

Try not to...

• be an idiot or a troll. I know it's hard, but try
• spam.
• post as different people. As much as you wish you were a lot of people, you're not.
• stalk. Or maybe this is a don't. Don't stalk me or any other commenters.
• double post. If your comment doesn't show up, it's been held for moderation. There's no need to go back and try to repost it.

Don't

• comment for the sake of commenting. There will be no 'nice site' or 'I agree', and absolutely no, "first!" Ever.
• try to hold me responsible for anything someone posted in a comment. I'm not.
• involve me in your illegal activities, because you will not like it.
• assume that I'm going to take you seriously.
• use fake email addresses. It's not cute, clever or original, and it may get me to mark you as spam.

Other things you should know:

• Your email address, while required, will generally not be revealed. For reasons why certain bits of information might be revealed, see the Idiot Archive. Also, I make no guarantees of privacy if you happen to find my site while searching for child porn.
• I do not moderate my comments so that I can be sure only positive or praising comments get through.
• I do not edit comments to make them seem more positive or praising.
• If I do edit a comment, I generally do so in a manner that does not alter the original content of the comment. Usually, I will identify myself as editing to add some form of commentary to the original comment. If I'm editing the actual comment, I will note that also -- because, sometimes, you just have to fix things.
• I will ban you. This does not mean that I'm especially threatened by you, or that I care. It just means that you will be forced to leave this place if you cannot figure it out for yourself.
• The entire comments policy is a work in progress. It can be changed at any time.

A short list o things that will get you banned.

• Threatening to 'fuck up my site' through whatever 'amazing computer superpowers' you claim to have -- especially if you fail to deliver.
• Promising to leave for good and then failing to keep your promise.
