Cope the Mangrove Monitor

I got Cope in May of 2001 from the Colorado Reptile Rescue League, who took her in after someone found her wandering around a construction site in Colorado Springs. Whether she was released, or she escaped, I don't know -- both are equally likely.

Cope is definitely the closest thing to a mean reptile I've owned so far -- she's probably about the standard, as far as their moods go. Not precisely mean, but not precisely nice. A typical animal, I guess.

And she probably was, at one point. I'm fairly certain that she was one of those wild-caught imports.

Cope died in 2004. I don't remember the exact date for some reason.
