My first monitor lizard. An impulse buy and a birthday present all rolled into one. Three things that should never happen when you're talking about lizards.

He only ever bit once, when he thought he was going to be dropped. He'd sleep in my pocket, and he'd close his eyes and 'wag' his tail slightly when he was really content -- which was most of the time I was holding him.

He froze to death; he was killed. Someone intentionally made sure he had no heat on one of the coldest nights of that year.
