And, I was playing around with Gremlin's camera, since Zombi was looking all cute.

After I figured out how to adjust the white balance, I found the 'night' setting that let me shoot it in interesting night-visioney stuff, or whatever -- instead of setting off the flash. Then, this happened....

Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the kitteh.

There was another storm before that -- I got pictures, and never got 'round to uploading them until now [you can guess why based on yesterday's post].

I've got them up now, though. They're here, but mostly they're on page 2.

Most of the first snow is probably not very interesting -- snow on fresh, new green stuff. Somewhere in there is a picture I took at Taco Bell, though. We were sitting at one of those 'tall' tables, with the higher chairs than usual. It was just kinda...odd to see how I could only reach the cross-bar in the chair, but Gremlin could actually reach the floor.

Found it.

It's not really all that special. I'm just...pointing out how much shorter I am. Or how tall he is.

I like this one. It was accidental, but...kinda neat. Most of the pictures from that night are neat in an accidental way, because the 'snow mist' kept getting in the way of everything. I could either get pictures that were too dark, or I could use the flash, and end up getting a whole bunch of...haze over everything, which sometimes turned out okay.

I couldn't get very many close-up shots like I wanted. There was no wind, but the trees wouldn't stop moving. It was very disorienting.

And now, since I need to kill time and not do anything with them, I'm adding stuff to the gallery. Like pictures of my new keyboard.

It lights up. Isn't it neat?

Also, there's some new stuff in the Digicam/2008 album.

And now I'm going all out of order. This is just a neat picture I managed to get of the moon, and an interesting ring around it.

This is the small 'insta-blizzard' from the 18th. It was pleasant enough when we left the house, and suddenly, there were all these tiny, hard snowballs [they weren't flaky, and they weren't quite ice] coming in sideways.

And this is the new 'open' sign on the church. Tacky....

Each of those should lead to a whole album of other pictures. I want chips now, and cannot be bothered to say much more until I get them.

Or, actually, Thursday was weird. Gremlin covered some of that, including the video.

It started with shoes. Gremlin apparently needed a new pair, because...I don't know. So I ordered them from Zappos.com, and, as mentioned over in his post, we went for a walk.

That, in itself, was fairly ordinary. The walk, I mean. Except for the shoe, which was weird. Some kid lost the same sort of shoe I'd just ordered. Almost. Different colour. But same brand.

I'm not making anything of it; I'm just commenting that it was kinda weird to see a perfectly good shoe just sitting there in the middle of the sidewalk. I wonder if the parent noticed, eventually.

While Gremlin was getting his hair cut, I sat there trying to drown out the overly-loud, inane bullshit conversations that all the other stylists were having with their victims with my iPod. It turns out that the sountrack for Beautiful Katamari does not overpower these things as well as I'd hoped. I was stuck listening to a conversation about how someone's little kid might be autistic, because mommy and daddy getting haircuts sends the child into fits of terror.

This tells me something about why there are suddenly five out of three kids being diagnosed as autistic these days. I remember hearing stories about how I had issues whenever one of my close family members got a new hairstyle, or new glasses, or new facial hair. That's not really autistic, that's just being a child. Sorta like how spazzing like a ferret after three gallons of coffee isn't ADD, it's just being a child. Let's stop giving kids illnesses just because they act like kids.

...now, if they insist that their shoelaces be run through the holes in an exact way, there might be something wrong with them.

And while we're on the subject of kids and wrongness, the quarter-eating junk machines are getting seriously fucked up. Glow Crosses? And that thing next to it, with the unfortunate glare? That really says 'Bling'.

I guess it's good to know where all those people wearing that shit are actually getting it, right?

Then there was the Pizza Delivery Car Tail Fin Sharky Lookin' Thing. I think I'm going to end with that, for now. There's more, but I think they might actually deserve their own posts, and I'm a little over-progressed.

See, I actually got some stuff done yesterday, after we got back. It didn't have anything to do with my site, though, so it doesn't really matter. Unless you count the pictures I uploaded from July 4th, and the at least 100 pictures of a sunset from the same walk I was just talking about....

That is: the posts with images are now no longer using the Coppermine plugin to pull images from...Coppermine. Instead, they're either relying on Gallery2 or links to my Images folder.

Now all I have to do is replace a few width/height tags for thumbnails, and rotate a few [hundred] images so they're facing the right direction.

This is like progress, though....

Edit: more progress. I just went through the entire gallery and rotated the ones that needed rotating. I'm not sure if I got them all, but I at least got the obvious ones. So that's done.

Also, I went through and resized all the thumbnails being pulled in by WPG2. I wish there was a way to set it so that it would put the thumbnails in at 100 instead of 150, but...there isn't an obvious one. So I have to do it by hand.

Now I just have to get all my new images uploaded, including the ones from last night. Oh, and go back and tag all the untagged posts. And then maybe I can justify redesigning this thing....

Also, I added three new albums from this year. I might add a few more later, and post about them. Because they're more postey pictures than just my regular boring cloud/tree/boring stuff.

I may've gotten a little ahead of myself in the actual use of colours other than black. I'm not even really at the halfway point yet.

But I've made progress, haven't I? The Bamboo has really helped -- that, and remembering which layer I'm supposed to be working in. And finally figuring out that, if I'm just going to redraw it anyway, I can take the original image and expand it to 'Chokes My Computer' size.

...becase any potential future products need an image of a certain size, y'know.

Ahead of myself, again.

I'll probably continue to work on this for the rest of the day. I might even have it finished at some point....

That reminds me. I've added an 'unfinished' folder to my gallery for these things.

By now, nobody should be surprised that I waste space and time on such things.

Now, about that other stuff....

These were a part of the same order as the calendar and bumper stickers from the other day, but shipping was a little slow. Holiday thing.

I don't know if they're actually available through the regular store yet, but you can probably find these specific ones with a cafepress.com Marketplace search on 'cthulhu dagon'. [I mention that, because I'm not sure if linking to it is going to work.]

What you see here are the three different sizes of pins [or buttons, or whatever you want to call them] a longsleeved black TShirt, and a large mug.

Most interesting here is the improvement of the black shirts. The whites really are...well, white. And the image is crisp and clear, although there is some strange, unintentional crossfading in some of the letters. I'm not sure if that's a one-time mistake or something they're still working on.

I also added a 'Products' album for the pictures of stuff from Wasted...mostly because we got some new stuff...the day before yesterday. Partial order -- we're still waiting on a few things. This was mostly bumper stickers and a miniposter calendar.

Excuse the movies that they're piled on -- that's my 'I might watch these soon' pile, combined with the 'why weren't these in their cases?' pile.
