<p>Which might be why I've put off that thing Gremlin asked me to do for his books.  I'm not very good at it.  </p>
<p>Fortunately, <i>Duma Key</i> kinda takes care of itself in that way.  It explains itself, without explaining itself.  Right on page 237 of the hardcover, end of the second paragraph.</p>
<p>"The water runs faster now. Soon come the rapids."</p>
<p>It doesn't make sense now, and it might not even make sense to some of the people who've read the book, but that's it. </p>
