Mostly, I’m focused on reading, except not enough to properly read. I’m listening to audiobooks right now.<\/p>\n

It’s been a while since I talked about reading, and the GoodReads challenge. Mostly because I chucked the entire concept of reading aside onto the great pile of Huge Fucking Mess when Zombi got sick, and everything else went all weird, and I didn’t quite get back to it right away.<\/p>\n
I just hit 97 books, though. So, I’m 97% done with my GoodReads challenge, and I’m not really sure what to do about it. Should I edit my goal and see how much farther I can go? Maybe.<\/p>\n
97 books, and I’m only eleven books into the Discworld series. Well, I just started on eleven. I’m going publication order. <\/p>\n
And I’m enjoying it immensely. <\/p>\n
Before Pratchett, I managed to get through the Dexter series [which is what triggered the Nano crisis, and ran me into a strange issue where the middle book of the series was only available through a different service provided by the library. So, that was annoying.<\/p>\n
I’m not entirely sure how I felt about the books. I know that the Showtime series didn’t hold my attention at all. <\/p>\n
I also finally read Ender’s Game, and I plan on continuing with the series once I’m done with Discworld. I just had to jump on the Discworld stuff when it suddenly came available. <\/p>\n
That’s the thing about reading from the library. It tends to break up a series. <\/p>\n
All this reading, and all this writing, and all this using of GoodReads? Well, it’s left me with something that I know I have to fix. <\/p>\n
I’m shit at writing reviews, as you probably know by now. And book reviews? I’m extra shit at those. I just don’t know what to do. I know what I don’t like from reading other people’s reviews, but I don’t know what I’d like to do about it. And I know I should<\/i> review, because GoodReads keeps throwing up big ‘Write your review now!’ boxes every time I finish a book. <\/p>\n
Except how the fuck am I supposed to? I mean, I just finished this book, and I want to move on to the next one. In some cases, I already have<\/i> moved on to the next one, and I just don’t know what to say. <\/p>\n
So I think I have to work on that. I just don’t know how.<\/p>\n
And I probably won’t for a while. Because I’m on Witches Abroad and there are, what, twenty-nine books left? Twenty-eight? And I’m thinking about setting up a reading corner in my bedroom so I’m not reading in bed all the time, because Insomnia Group frowns on using the bed as anything but a place for ‘traditional bed things’, which, apparently, does not include reading. <\/p>\n
So I have to figure out how to do that. I’ve got a chair, but I have to figure out where I want to put it, clear out that spot, and then work out what I want to do about lighting.<\/p>\n
Lighting might be the hard part. I tried looking up video reviews on various lighting options, and I’m not sure I actually got video reviews, because they’re visually indistinguishable from UFO videos. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
